Mission Statement

It is the English Language Learner Program's mission to support learners in achieving the English language proficiency needed to succeed academically and to realize personal, social, and career goals.

TO ACHIEVE OUR MISSION , WE WILL:

• Hold English Language Learners to the same high expectations established for all students---demonstration of measurable academic growth within a reasonable period of time.

• Advocate for full access by English Language Learners to all areas of curricula, safe and well-equipped classrooms, appropriate instructional practices and assessment measures, learning resources, and support services.

• Play an active role in ensuring that English Language Learners are taught in a positive and inclusive learning environment where policies and practices communicate a value placed on diversity.

• Promote shared responsibility among educational personnel, families, and the community responsible for the education of English Language Learners.

• Work as partners with educational personnel and language minority families by
sharing needed information and training on how to meet the needs of English Language Learners.
