Welcome to another year! It has been great to see so many new and returning students this year. I know that this school year is going to be a successful one for everyone!

Recently I had a fantastic question from a new parent, "So, what exactly does a school counselor do?" There are several items that I do as your school counselor.
Here are the top 3.

* 1. Classrooms in the school receive many lessons from me throughout the school year. Classroom lesson topics include: friendships, conflict resolution, harassment, celebrating diversity, decision-making, self-esteem, drug awareness, and study-skills.

* 2. Student Groups! I meet with groups of parent-referred students throughout the year. Group topics include: Friendship, Study-Skills, and Divorce/Family Changes. Permission slips have gone home in the Wednesday envelopes. If you need another permission slip just give me a call and I can send one to you.

* 3. I also meet one on one with students in need. Many times parents with a concern will call me up and request that I check in with their son or daughter. No concern you have is too small. If I can help out I will!

Have a great day!
