PHYSICAL EDUCATION EXPECTATIONS
Entering the Gym:
- Students will wait quietly in hall.
- Bathroom breaks should be taken before Phy Ed.
- Students will walk into gym quietly and sit immediately in teams.
Participation:
- Participation is necessary to meet all physical education outcomes.
- Students must wear appropriate tennis shoes for safe participation. Tennis shoes must have laces and be tied appropriately. Some examples of inappropriate shoes include: Skater shoes, DC’s, Etnies, boots, and sandals.
- Students are only excused with a medical note from doctor or note from home.
Consequences for inappropriate shoes:
- First offense – no participation in phy ed activities on that day.
- Second offense - no participation in phy ed activities on that day & phone call home to parents.
- Third offense – Behavior slip
Discipline:
Expectations –
- Enter the gym quickly and quietly.
- Listen and follow directions the first time.
- Be Respectful.
- Participate and have fun.
- Line up quickly and quietly.
Consequences for not following Expectations:
- Verbal Warning
- Safety Break (Time-out) along side of gym
- Student is given white behavior slip & can’t participate again on that day.
