I “Love to Read”

Friday, February 22, will be a busy reading day at Crest View. In the morning we have our annual Read Around Crest View where each student is paired with a buddy and they move to three different classrooms to hear three different stories. About 30 staff members will be reading a story based on our dinosaur theme or one of their very favorite books. The other staff members will be busy recording the book information on a passport– ask your student to tell them about the stories they heard!

In the afternoon, we will hold our 2nd RIF book distribution where each student will choose from a selection of free books. There are many great titles at all reading levels. Students will also bring home a dinosaur coloring sheet for you to sign. Take a few minutes to read the new book with your student.

Next week, Feb. 25-29, is our amazing Dino World where the entire media center will be transformed into the world of the dinosaurs, an archeological dig. Students will use their imagination to travel back 100 million years to the time of the dinosaurs. Students will read dinosaur books and enjoy a dinosaur snack (fruit snack, that is). This is always a highlight for CV students.
