Cedar Island PTO Minutes-November 1, 2007

7:00 p.m. in the Conference Room

Attendees: 4 parents and 4 staff

The meeting was called to order by vice president, Jim Stanley.

Treasurer’s Report: absent

Principal’s Report: Dan Wald

The vote for the levy is this Tuesday, November 6. Pam Richards, a math specialist for the district, is available to present information on the new math program at a future PTO meeting. The January PTO meeting was selected as a possible time for this presentation, with the 6:30-7:00 regular PTO meeting, and a 7:00 presentation by Pam Richards.

Discussion was held regarding the Long Lake trip for sixth graders. The trip is an educational three day environmental camp. The cost per student is $135. The sixth grade parents were surveyed and 91% are in favor of the trip. The sixth grade students will sell ButterBraids before the holidays to help pay for the trip. This has been a successful fund raiser in past years. Other students will have a chance to sell butter braids after the sixth graders have sold them. We discussed how to allocate the funds raised by the students. April 28-30 is the tentative date for the trip.

The Innisbrook fund raiser was extremely well organized. The students really enjoyed the inflatables party. Thank you to Leslie Lundgren and Shannon Manning for all their hard work! They did a great job!

Volunteer Update: Barb Lindsay

The Innisbrook fund raiser is done. Turkey Bingo is November 16th. Student Express started last week. Popcorn for the classrooms starts next week.

DPAC Update: absent

The meeting was adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
