Cedar Island PTO Minutes-January 3, 2008

6:30 p.m. in the Conference Room

Attendees: 16 parents and 3 staff

The meeting was called to order by president, Bonnie Keating.

Principal’s Report: Dan Wald

No indications have been given on school closures with the budget cuts. The school board meets on January 8. January 18 th is a workshop day for staff. Teachers will work on curriculum in the morning and have a math speaker in the afternoon. A note will be coming home reminding parents of parent- teacher conferences.

Treasurer’s Report: Shannon Manning

The treasurers report was passed out. The first of two box tops checks has been received for $1,491. The auditor recommended increasing the interest earned in the savings account.

Volunteer Update: Barb Lindsay

The Valentines party flyer has been sent out. Teachers and parent volunteers coordinate these parties. The first grade parties may be held in the morning.

The meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m.

At 7:00 p.m. Pam Richards gave a presentation on the new math curriculum.
