Fitnessgram fitness testing is done in the fall and spring of each school year.
Standards for each test have been set by experts that represent levels of
performance as it correlates to, “GOOD HEALTH”. The students are tested
in the following areas using one of the tests listed after each area.
• Cardio-respiratory endurance - one mile run/walk; Pacer
• Abdominal strength/endurance - sit-up
• Upper body strength/endurance - push-up
• Flexibility - back saver sit and reach
Students fitness scores ARE NOT part of their physical education grade. It
is meant to provide parents and each child, of their current fitness levels;
the areas of strength and the areas that need improvement.
