Instructional Media & Technology

The Instructional Media and Technology branch of I2T2 supports the ISD 279 mission through a variety of services. The department is primarily responsible for supporting the district’s instructional media and technology program that focuses on developing information literacy and technology skills. In addition to supporting the curricular needs of the district, the department provides services which include: technology integration, staff development, web support, video production, equipment loan, a professional collection and central video collection, and Cable Channel 21.
This department provides a broad spectrum of services, including loaning equipment, circulating videos and professional development materials to support district curriculum, and staff development.

The I2T2 professional library contains an extensive collection of resources for instructional and professional use, including a collection of multicultural/gender-fair/disability awareness resources, and a professional collection of print and non print resources for staff and professional development.

Central Processing
This department handles cataloging, processing and distribution of print and non-print materials to ensure that resources are easily located by students and staff. Central Processing also helps support the building media center electronic catalogs, assists with maintaining the Instructional Media and Technology Professional Collection, and addresses copyright permission requests and questions.

Cable Channel 21
Cable Channel 21 airs student activities, athletic events, and other programs of interest to residents in and around District 279, and provides helpful school information such as lunch menus, job postings, school board information, and information on upcoming district events.
