28th - Saturday - ISD 279 Band Students March Their Way Through Summer:

A highlight of the summer is the Osseo Marching Band Festival, to be held Saturday, June 28th in the city of Osseo. This festival begins at 7:30 a.m. with a Fundraiser Breakfast Buffet in the Osseo High School cafeteria hosted by the Osseo Band Boosters, which supports the Osseo High School Marching Band. "47 Years at Edgewood" Celebrate Edgewood's history, community and alumni are invited.

The first elementary building in our district, opened in the fall of 1954. Osseo Elementary will hold a "legacy celebration", community can enjoy a BBQ and reminisce while visiting the history room.

OASIS offers "Calming the Emotionally Reactive Brain" A. W. Atkinson, MD, FAAP, is a Developmental, Behavioral Pediatrician at Bluestem Center for Child and Family Development in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Atkinson will explain the neuroscience of how the brain works and how that knowledge can help parents and teachers select and use more effective strategies when interacting with children and teens who are hyperactive, impulsive, oppositional/defiant, irritable, angry, and/or otherwise highly emotionally reactive.

Osseo ALC (Alternative Learning Center) students presents "Sparks in the Park" at the OALC, 7300 Boone Ave. N., Brooklyn Park.

7th - Friday 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
ISD 279-Osseo Area Schools will hold their annual Osseo District Blood Drive at Edinbrook Elementary (8925 Zane Avenue North in Brooklyn Park). Open to public and all staff. Call Deb at 763-391-8402 for more info.

OASIS offers "Parents and Teachers as Allies as They Deal with Emotional/Behavioral Issues in Children." Shelley White, Associate Director of NAMI, the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill in Minnesota will provide information on why teachers and parents often find themselves at odds regarding a child’s behavior.
