On Monday, November 19, more than 500 student musicians from ISD 279 will perform in one of the premiere concert halls in the country, Orchestra Hall. Students representing Maple Grove Senior High School, Osseo Senior High School, and Park Center Senior High School will be on stage, as well as the District 279 Children’s Chorus.
According to Dr. Wendy Barden, ISD 279 music coordinator, “This concert is a unique opportunity to showcase the high level of musicianship our students across the district have achieved. I’m looking forward to a great evening of choral and instrumental music!” She is quick to acknowledge the concert is possible through a generous grant from the Minnesota Orchestra as part of the UPbeat partnership between the Orchestra and ISD 279.
The Orchestra Hall Showcase Concert begins at 7:00 p.m. at Orchestra Hall, 1111 Nicollet Avenue, Minneapolis. Tickets are $12 for Main Floor general seating and $22 for Tier 1 reserved seating (prices include the $2.25 Facility Fee). There is a service charge of $4.75 per transaction. Tickets will go on sale beginning October 8 through the Orchestra Hall box office at (612) 371-5656 or online at www.minnesotaorchestra.org.
